National Fruit Show

We are delighted to announce that the Cider Competition, sponsored by Agrii, is returning to the National Fruit Show in 2026.

It’s an opportunity to celebrate the full breadth of the UK fruit industry and the many ways British-grown fruit is enjoyed, from dessert and culinary apples to cider.

The competition includes four classes:
🍎 Traditional Eastern Counties Style
🍎 Traditional West Country Style
🍎 Low Alcohol / 0% Cider
🍎 Sparkling Cider

Alongside two traditional regional styles, the Low Alcohol / 0% class has been introduced to reflect how consumer preferences and the cider market have evolved in recent years.

Sponsored by Agrii, the winner of each class will receive £100, a trophy to hold for one year and a prestigious winners’ logo to use on their website, labels or packaging.

Matt Greep, Fruit, Vineyards and Horticulture Area Business Manager at Agrii, said: “We’re really pleased to be supporting the National Fruit Show by sponsoring this year’s cider competition. Its presence at the Show is an opportunity to recognise the significance that the cider industry has to fruit farming in the UK, as well as the quality beverages that can be produced from British apples.”

The competition will take place on Tuesday 3 November, with the entries displayed and the winners announced at the National Fruit Show on Wednesday 4 November.

Entries close on Friday 23 October. To take part, the entry form can be downloaded from the ‘Compete’ section of the website or requested from competitions@nationalfruitshow.org.uk
